The awards night featured the likes of Damien Leith and Kate Cebrano, with the latter being inducted into the hall of fame.
Katie presented the youth award to Frank Dixon, a 15 year old singer/songwriter who Katie believes has a lot of talent.
When Katie placed second in the open category of the songwriting contest, she said she felt honoured that her Christmas ballad 'Snowflake' was chosen.
Snowflake was inspired by a trip to a snow resort called 'Les Gets', in France.
She was dazzled by the dancing snowflakes, so much so she asked her instructor to stop the ski lift, just so she could pen some more lyrics.
Now the snow resort loves to play the song.
Katie is thankful for those who helped bring Snowflake to life.
The song's artwork was drawn by artist, Monica Markovina. Katie's producer Pete Stevenson arranged the song.
Matt Zarb performed wonderful guitar work, which was teamed with Laura Zarb's gorgeous vocals.
Laura will be performing the song at the upcoming Taree Carols at Fotheringham Park on December 14.
