KYLE Brown is keen to get the 'Manning in Motion', at this new festival event. Following on from the success of the Manning River Summer Festival, Manning in Motion, will run from January 10 to 26, in 2015.

Kyle, the festival's organiser, said the festival will celebrate the best time of the year in the Manning Valley.

Kyle would like the festival to promote the area as a tourist destination, based on our ideal environments for extreme sports.

The festival will bring together events old and new.

New events include a night market held on the river bank, similar to the this Saturday's Night Bazaar.

A celebrity league tag challenge will be held on January 24, raising funds for Red Kite and Ronald McDonald House. The challenge can expect the likes of Danny Buderus, Boyd Cordner and other local and national celebrities.

There will also be a Troy Bayliss challenge.

Another new addition, running throughout the festival, will be a scavenger hunt with prizes, accessible through an iPhone app.

Familiar events included in the festival calendar are Crowdy Head triathlon, the Taree summer rowing regatta and Taree Amateur Swimming Club hosting a championship event at the YMCA.

Community members can get involved by attending the events, with most being free of charge.

There will also be volunteering opportunities in assisting at the gates or helping plan events.

For businesses, there is the opportunity to partner with events, with the platinum sponsor of the festival being Stacks the Law Firm.
