"Over 3.5 million people in more than 1100 venues around the world have enjoyed previous performances by the National Theatre Live and we're delighted to again bring them to the Manning Valley as part of our 2014 Greatest Shows on Earth season," Jeremy Miller, theatre manager at the Manning Entertainment Centre said.
"The response has been overwhelmingly positive in the past and this next series should prove no different."
Starting Monday, December 1 performances of the Danny Boyle production "Frankenstein", will feature Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller both as the creature and Victor Frankenstein.
More iconic plays follow, with Gillian Anderson shining as Blanch DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire", with Ben Foster as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby as Stella.
February events include Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee James Franco and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd staring in the hit Broadway production "Of Mice and Men". Also Robert Louis Stevenson's story of murder, money and mutiny is brought to life in a thrilling new stage adaptation "Treasure Island" by Bryony Lavery.
Local businesses have been a keen supporters of the National Theatre Live screenings since they began at the Manning Entertainment Centre.
"I wasn't sure how I would feel about watching a play on the big screen," said local business owner Graham Brown. "You really do get the sense of sitting in a London theatre watching these amazing actors."
