The club is now seeking advice on how to fix the ramp long term. As reported in the Times on Friday October 17, the club cannot gain access to the beach from the ramp for its Inshore Rescue Boat sparking concern should it be required quickly in an emergency. Club members also have to carry equipment needed to conduct patrols to the beach. Previously the gear was transported on a trailer.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead gained the $5000 through the Minister for Environment, Rob Stokes, who said his department would make available emergency funding for the club to help rectify the problem.
