It was back in September 1994 that the first gathering of the present Tea and Chatter group was held with 30 people attending.

Numbers have varied since then from just four at one morning tea to 80 at the first Christmas lunch in 1995. Over the years the seniors have enjoyed being entertained with songs and displays by the school children, some guest speakers and some group outings including a morning tea at Cutloose Bamboo Nursery, two Manning River Cruises and two Christmas in July lunches at Harrigan's Irish Pub.

Even with introduction of Christmas in July lunches in 2006, the main focus of these monthly get-togethers is still a cuppa and a chat with friends old and new.The November 20 Tea and Chatter starts at 11am and costs $15 per head.
