Club members displayed their prized collections of Bonsai plants and Suiseki rocks at Club Taree.
Club secretary Libby Gowing said some of the region's best Bonsai trees were on display.
"We had nearly 50 trees on display and Suiseki rocks people had got from some really interesting places," she said,.
Libby said the open day also featured a visitor who gave club members some valuable advice.
"We had a demonstration from Chris Dinola from the Illawarra club, and he worked on a setting of five windswept trees made out of Japanese box," she said.
"He demonstrated how to make the setting. He also worked on the club members' trees and explained what he was doing as he went along.
"It was wonderful to have him and it's really helpful for everyone to get tips."
Libby said there were a few key tips to looking after Bonsais.
"The secret to maintaining them is keeping them watered because they don't have much soil, root pruning them and keeping them outside," she said.
Club member Adrian Arkin won the lucky door prize of a setting the demonstrator made, but kindly donated it back for another winner.
"I said the next person drawn should get it, which happened to be our secretary Libby," he said.
"Due to my health I couldn't maintain the setting properly, so it was good it went to someone else."
Club Taree Pun-Jing Bonsai and Suiseki Club hold workshops the first Saturday of each month at different members' houses where they work on their trees.
The club meets on the third Sunday of each month at Club Taree from 1pm.
