Greater Taree City Council has announced rehabilitation works on Wingham Road between Muldoon Street and Old Wingham Road are scheduled to begin in November.
Many drivers travelling to Wingham along this section of road veer to the left to avoid the worst of the corrugations.
Wingham Road, Taree was recently listed as the fifth worst road on the North Coast in a national NRMA survey.
Council will reconstruct the failed pavement and replace failed kerb and gutter as well as improve existing stormwater pits and pavement subsoil drainage will be installed.
Council says the project also includes full road resurfacing, to improve the ride for road users.
Works are scheduled to start in November and are expected to continue through to January 2015. During this time road users should expect moderate delays with temporary detours and reduced speed limits.
The works are reliant on the weather.
and subject to change. Updates and more information will be released as the works progress.
