They will be conducting a special ceremony on Friday, October 31 at the memorial at Club Taree to commemorate Beersheba Day and the departure of the first convoy that carried troops of the Australian Imperial Force and New Zealand Expeditionary Force, later to be known as Anzacs.
The ceremony will feature a presentation of Allies Flags to Greater Taree's high school captains who will lead the 2015 Anzac parade in Taree.
The service will observe the significance of the event and remember the sacrifices, valour and pay tribute to those who gave their life in the service of our nation.
The service will feature a tribute along with wreaths and floral tributes being laid by members of the RSL, ex-service organisations and the general public.
Mayor of Greater Taree City Council Paul Hogan will address those in attendance at 10.40am, followed by the Blessing of the Flags by Keith Dean-Jones at 10.45am and the presentation of the flags by Cr Hogan to the high school captains at 10.50am.
