Cundletown Museum has been in its current location for two-and-a-half years, with exhibits and displays reflecting the busy lives of its former residents.
With an emphasis on preserving the artefacts and implements of the dairy industry, many larger relics have been promised as additions when space permits. These are currently housed by donors or friends for safe keeping.
However, this is about to change.
After much negotiation and adaptation of plans, the land has been readied to commence the building of 'The Shed', a facility which is designed to accommodate these bulkier items of historical interest.
These include a restored milk truck and small sulky.
The housing of these items within the museum grounds will add to the current exhibition and enable an even greater appreciation of the dairy industry and its changes over the years.
To build such a facility, however, requires support. In order to boost funds, a variety concert is being held at the Cundletown Public School on Sunday, October, 26 commencing at 1.30pm.
Entitled 'Raise The Roof", the concert is planned to bring members of the wider community and local artists together to help realise this dream.
Vocal soloists, choirs, instrumentalists, bands and dancers will engage the audience in a memorable afternoon of entertainment .
Tickets are $10 adult, $8 concession, $25 family, and afternoon tea, raffle ticket, cottage craft and a lucky door prize will all be available.
The public is invited to come and hear some great Sunday afternoon music, and help the local community to preserve and maintain history a the same time.
