With spring in the air the Hannam Vale gardens are back in full bloom and will be a delight to visit during their annual Open Garden Day on Sunday, October 14.
New gardens will be on display and open for inspection from 10am, and will include charming cottage gardens, tropical gardens, woodland gardens and vegetable gardens.
Landcare will be on hand to demonstrate techniques for weed identification and control and bush regeneration methods, and a Microherders session will be held to learn about soil biology and its values.
Market stalls will be up and running to offer quality nursery plants and seedlings, preserves, jams and honey, jewellery and bric-a-brac.
Hannam Vale Primary School P and C will get your day started with a morning cuppa and cake served at the reserve pavilion.
Programs and maps for the open garden day will be available for $7 per person at the Hannam Vale Recreation Reserve. For more information contact Anne Campbell-Cross on 6556 7639 or Melinda Dean on 6556 7628.
