As the whales are returning home from up north, now is the time to keep an eye on the horizon for a spectacular show. On Monday I was fortunate enough to share the experience up close with "Captain Matt" and his crew on the Amaroo Cruises at Forster.

We began the journey by soaking up the beautiful surrounds of the Great Lakes before exiting the channel to the ocean. Within twenty minutes we were in view of three separate pods totaling about a dozen whales. The entire boat had a chance to get a great view for about an hour before we returned home escorted by a group of common dolphins.
