This included teams from Sydney, Tamworth, Armidale, Moree, Murwillumbah along with five from the Manning association.
The championship started on Friday afternoon at 3pm with the finals getting underway at 2pm on Sunday.
Manning’s over 35 side went through the preliminary matches unbeaten but were defeated 2-0 in the final by Dubbo.
Coach Kate Harris agreed her team saved their worst performance for last.
Dubbo scored both goals in the last 10 minutes of the final when the Manning players were struggling. A late withdrawal meant Manning only had two reserves for the entire carnival.
Manning’s No 2 side were joint premiers in division two while the No 4 side made the final.
Manning and State hockey officials were delighted with the success of the championships. Both synthetic turf fields were in play while some matches had to be played on grass.
