Members of the Manning Great Lakes Riding for the Disabled Association (NSW) took on the State's best during last month's 2014 RDA (NSW) State Dressage Championships and Gymkhana Gala at Sydney.
Eight Manning Valley riders took part in the State championships, held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre on August 22-24.
It was an event which proved to be a successful one for the local riders, with two Manning Valley members crowned State champions.
Mikaela Worth was triumphant as the Grade 1A champion, while Ryan McNeil finished on top of the State to become the Grade 1A reserve champion.
Amber Hargreaves was outstanding on her way to becoming the Grade 2 Reserve champion, as club member Amber Hunt also walked away with a Grade 2 title as junior champion.
Mikaela Worth's horse Turbo also received the SIEC trophy for highest point score for an RDA Horse at the championships.
Manning Great Lakes RDA dressage coach Margie Lewis said it was the best ever performance from her young riders at a state championships.
"It's the best we've done, as last year we had one champion and one reserve champion, but this year we scooped the pool as we came home with two state champions and two reserve grade champions," she said.
"And all the other riders had at least a placing in their events, including Jasmine Chamberlain, Tara Copp, Bridgit Isles and Esther Vincent."
The proud coach said her riders had shown a lot of resilience at the championships, especially her Grade 2 Reserve champion.
"Amber has a severe vision impairment and all she can see when it's sunny is darkness with a spider web effect,
"She does so well, and I call out to her where the different numbers are she has to ride to."
The Manning Great Lakes RDA mentor said the group's two new State champions have ambitions to represent Australia firmly in their sights.
"It's certainly something Ryan and Mikaela are aiming for and on their bucket list, to make the Paralympics," she said.
The Manning Valley riders followed up their state success by hosting their RDA NSW regional mounted games on Saturday.
Miss Lewis said the regional's provided a chance to qualify for another shot at the state titles.
"We hosted 30 riders from across the region and it was a chance to try and get to the State Championships at next years Royal Easter Show," she said.
"They were judged and their scores will go down to the State Office and they will decide who qualifies."
The Manning Great Lakes RDA NSW host riding sessions on each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm.
Riding sessions are also held on the second and fourth Saturday's of each month from 9am to 4pm.
