THE surf lifesaving season is fast approaching with patrols starting on the first weekend of the school holidays. Taree Old Bar is in the preparation stages with gear inspections being formally carried out this weekend. The club has recently purchased a replacement for the 4x4 beach patrol vehicle, along with beach marquees for sun protection of its members.

On the weekend of September 12, 13 and 14 a branch training season has been organised for any surf lifesavers in the area who wish to upskill and gain their Applied First Aid, Silver Medallion Beach Management and Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate (ARTC).
