Political protest march in Taree

MARCH in August will be on August 30 in Taree.

The Taree arm of March Australia - 'The People United for Better Government' will host a protest March beginning at the Johnny Martin Oval in Taree and will move to Fotheringham Park in Taree.

March Australia Taree is the local chapter of March Australia and it is a local group that encourages people to unite to "show your disapproval of the current governments policies regarding our nurses, the closure of refuges, cuts to disability and aged care funding, pensioners and CSG among others. As well as the national issues, we wish to promote and protect the beautiful Manning Valley."

The group Facebook page www.facebook.com/TareeMarchInMarch contains information about the issues currently of concern to the group members.

People who wish to participate in the march will need to gather at the Johnny Martin Oval from 12.30pm, with the march to Fotheringham Park to begin at 1pm.

There will be speakers, live entertainment by Laura Zarb and Peggy Van Zalm and at the end of the march a sausage sizzle, face painting and more activities in Fotheringham Park.
