Flags on every government building around the country are being flown at half mast, including those at the entrance to Greater Taree City Council's chambers (pictured), to commemorate the lives of those lost.
There is also a non-denominational memorial service being held at the Anglican Church in Taree from midday.
Former Taree man Michael Clancy and his wife Carol were among the 38 Australian victims of the July 17 flight.
