Taking the role of the Von Trapp children from The Sound of Music, the selected students (the majority who come from St Joseph's Primary School plus Levi Evans from the Manning Valley Anglican College) will have the added thrill of performing the musical number Do Re Mi on stage with one of Australia's musical theatre stars, Rachael Beck.
The girls and boys have been rehearsing regularly in the lead-up to the show, and will come together with Rachael to put on the finishing touches prior to the show.
"Parents are madly making outfits for them," added teacher Natasha Brotherton.
Students from years two to six are involved in the musical item.
The Rotary Manning Valley Schools Spectacular is on at the Manning Entertainment Centre on Wednesday August 27 with concerts at 11am and 7pm.
Tickets are available online through the Manning Entertainment Centre or from Movies Games and More in Victoria Street, Taree.
