Manning Agriculture and Horticulture Society is gearing up for the October 11-12 show and would like to hear from young women aged between 18 and 25 years who would like to compete in this year's Taree Showgirl Competition.
There are excellent prizes for the first two placegetters and a chance to compete at the Royal Show next Easter, for the honour of being The Land Royal Easter Showgirl, NSW.
Anyone interested in taking part should contact Val Weller on 6554 1240 or 0409 113 958.
The committee is busy giving the grounds a facelift, painting the agriculture hall and poultry shed.
There will be some new competitions this year such as the young farmers competition where teams compete against one another, performing everyday duties of a farm.
Another competition will be the reptile show run, by the Herpetology Group, where owners of snakes bring along their pets to be judged in their different classes.
The local schools are also getting excited with the variety of classes they can enter in such as art, cooking, metal work and photography.
This year the society is offering pre-purchased family tickets for the two days at $40 for two adults and two children.
These tickets will be available at different outlets around the district.
The demolition derby will again be run which is hugely popular with the crowd, along with all the regular ring events.
As always it's going to be a fantastic weekend of fun for all ages.
