One Direction's Where We Are - The Concert Tour plays for one weekend only on October 11 and 12, with more than 10,000 screenings slated for 3000 cinemas.
“If you haven’t had a chance to come see us at our Where We Are stadium tour this year, or you simply just want to relive it again, we’ve got a very, very special announcement for you,” said band member Niall Horan in a promo video.
The film incorporates two nights of concert footage of Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, filmed in Italy's San Siro soccer stadium in June. It also features a 15-minute interview with the band and behind-the-scenes footage.
It is unclear whether the new project involves Morgan Spurlock, the documentary director behind the band's first film, This Is Us, a 3D release that became the fourth highest grossing concert movie, earning US$68 million ($72 million).
Tickets for Where We Are go on sale from July 28.
The band's next tour, On The Road Again, comes to Australia in February, playing in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.
