Secret Bridesmaids' Business is a comedy play (not a musical) which is set in a hotel suite the night before Meg Bacon's wedding.
Meg, who has waited her whole life for this moment, gathers together her mum and bridesmaids for one last night of good old-fashioned girlie fun - well, that's the plan anyway.
While the bride prepares for the biggest night of her life and her mum Colleen fusses over ribbons and shoe fabrics, Meg's bridesmaids, Lucy and Angela, stumble upon some information that has the potential to shatter Meg's dream. Should they tell or not tell?
In the hilarious but painful push and pull that follows, Lucy and Angela discover that sometimes there's no right answer when it comes to doing what's best for your friend.
In true Australian style, Elizabeth Coleman's Secret Bridesmaids' Business is a funny play about serious issues like truth, loyalty, denial, sex, love, the meaning of marriage, female friendship and the plight of modern women with a biological clock that just won't keep up with the times.
Auditions will be held at 'The Shed' in Flametree Close, Taree, at 7pm on August 4. Mike Collins will conduct the auditions.
There will be six performances of Secret Bridesmaids' Business at the Manning Entertainment Centre; November 7, 14 and 15 at 8pm and November 8, 9 and 15 at 2pm.
It is planned for the cast to rehearse on Mondays and Thursdays.
