Brumbies breakaway David Pocock is wary of the Waikato Chiefs' big-game experience in the lead up to Saturday night's grand-final rematch at Canberra Stadium.

Pocock admitted it wasn't fun watching another finals campaign from the stands, but he took time out from rehabilitating his knee to present his teammates with their jerseys on Friday before the do-or-die qualifying final.

The Chiefs have won the Super Rugby title the past two years, coming from behind to knock off the Brumbies in last year's decider.

Pocock said the Brumbies held the edge in the experience department over his former club Western Force, who are yet to play in a Super Rugby finals campaign, in last week's seven-try romp, but the boot would be on the other foot when they take on a Chiefs side accustomed to playing on grand-final day.

"We were really happy with aspects of our game against the Force, but there's certainly a lot of things that we have to improve against the Chiefs," Pocock said.

"They're a totally different team and a team that knows how to play finals rugby.

"Last week was essentially a final with whichever team won went through.

"We saw a bit of that experience from our guys, but the Chiefs have far more experience than us so we have to really step it up."

For the second-straight finals campaign Pocock will watch the two teams go head to head from the stands after suffering season-ending knee injuries this year and last year.

It is a cruel blow to the world-class No.7. He spent seven seasons with the Force without playing finals and then joined a Brumbies side on the up, but back-to-back knee reconstructions have forced one of the world's best openside breakaways to continuously miss out on the Super Rugby play-offs.

But it hasn't stopped him trying to help the team in any way he can.

He presented the team with their jerseys on Friday and is using their campaign as motivation for next season.

"It's not a lot of fun watching, but it's exciting to be a part of," Pocock said.

"This group really does try to make you feel like you're a part of it; everyone tries to contribute.

"There's certainly no lack of motivation missing almost two-and-a-bit full years of rugby. I don't need any more."
