On Wednesday Taye was a member of the Joeys open side that accounted for Scone 10-4 in a hard fought final of the Newcastle Knights rugby league knockout in Newcastle. He played fullback.
On Friday Taye is off to the State All Schools Cross Country Championships to be run at Eastern Creek.
He qualified when winning the under 10 division at the Polding championships, also held at Eastern Creek, last month.
Today's run will be over 2km and Taye said he's been training hard for the event under the guidance of his dad, Troy.
Taye's shown a lot of improvement in 12 months. Last year he finished 13th at Polding.
He's not sure how he will go today.
"I'll just try and do my best,'' he said.
