OLD Bar captain-coach Danny Russell is confident his side can secure third spot on the Group Three Rugby League competition ladder in the next fortnight.
The Pirates meet Wingham on Saturday at Wingham then host front runners Wauchope the following weekend.
Russell said victory in both would almost certainly mean the Pirates would be involved in the preliminary semi-final on Sunday August 24.
"Obviously we'd like to win both of them and make sure of it,'' he said.
However, Russell said the Pirates aren't getting looking any further than tomorrow.
He added former Forster-Tuncurry utility player Tom Dooker to the squad and he looks certain to start in the back row. Dooker made his debut with the Pirates last match against Port City after completing suspension.
Wingham won a torrid first round encounter at Old Bar. Russell missed that match because of an ankle injury.
The Pirates have zoomed into third spot following three successive wins but only sit two points clear of the Tigers.
Russell was due to determine his side at training last night but didn't expect too many changes from the team that downed Port City in an impressive manner a fortnight ago.
Five-eighth Kurt Lewis, who is enjoying a golden run of form, was troubled by a shoulder injury in that game but is in no doubt for tomorrow. He spent much of the second half against the Breakers defending on the wing and Russell confirmed that could be the case tomorrow if the shoulder continues to trouble him.
