NSW Health has confirmed the 51-year-old driver involved in the truck crash on Friday afternoon remains in the Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
He is now in a serious but stable condition.
Friday, 2pm
A MAN has been taken to hospital following a truck roll over on the Pacific Highway near Telegraph Point.
It is believed the truck was heading north when it crossed over the south-bound lane and flew into bush on the side of the Pacific Highway.
NSW Ambulance said the 51-year-old male driver sustained chest and abdominal injuries.
But Port Macquarie duty operations manager Steve Towle said the outcome could have been far worse.
"The truck was well off the road," Inspector Towle said. "He was very lucky considering some of the pine trees were about 20 to 30 centimetres thick.
NSW Health confirmed the man was in a stable condition at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
State Emergency Services, police and NSW Ambulance attended the single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Pembroke Road soon after 1pm.
Port Macquarie Police Inspector Kim Fehon said the cause of the crash had not yet been determined.
Traffic was affected in both directions, with queues of up to 1 kilometre.
More information as it comes to hand.
