Featuring the talents of world-renowned musicians alongside Taree's premier Kantabile Chamber Choir, a performance of Bristish composer John Rutter's Requiem will be a spectacular moment of the Manning Winter Festival.
This contemporary work uses an ensemble of seven instruments, a soprano soloist and community choir and will be part of a program of beautiful music including harp and oboe solos and choral works accompanied by organ and piano.
The concert has two parts, the first with performances by Kantabile Chamber Choir, conducted by Catherine Jeffree and accompanied on organ by Peter Guy and piano by Sandra Kwa.
Solo performances will also be given by world renowned harpist Marshall McGuire and renowned international oboist Benjamin Opie.
The second half is the performance of the Requiem, conducted by Robyn Ryan OAM, guest conductor for the performance and resident conductor of Hastings Choristers.
Myriad Ensemble, has been co-artistically formed by former local and accomplished cellist Michael Bardon with Benjamin Opie and for this performance comprises of organ, oboe, three-pedal timpani, glockenspiel, harp, cello and soprano solo.
The guest musicians are from Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne and all have comprehensive performance credits to their names, being educated in Australia, Europe and America.
The Music over the Manning concert will be performed at St John's Anglican Church on Sunday June 22 at 2.30pm.

Meet the Myriad Ensemble:
Michael Bardon - cello
Michael Bardon holds degrees from the Musikhochschule Luebeck, Johannes Gutenberg Universitaet Mainz, Orchesterakademie der Essener Philharmoniker and the University of Newcastle. His principal teachers include Professors Diethelm Jonas, Nick Deutsch and Anthea Scott-Mitchell. Returning to Australia in 2011 he is the Young Ambassador for the Manning Winter Festival and currently holds teaching positions at the Australian Institute of Music, University of Newcastle and the Newington College. Performance commitments have taken him through Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the Middle East. Michael holds the William Bowmore Prize for postgraduate studies in Cello and is a previous recipient of a German DAAD scholarship, a Possehl Foundation prize and a Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now scholarship.
Benjamin Opie - oboe
Benjamin Opie is an oboist whose talents extend across the entire repertoire for oboe. He has been trained in historically informed performance practice, working with leaders in the field such as Susan Harvey and Geoffrey Lancaster. Ben's passion for contemporary music has allowed him to work with ensembles that have premiered countless works and developed mixed media performances. Ben has performed in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Australia as a soloist, collaborative and an orchestral musician. He has been invited as guest principal oboe to most of Autralia's national orchestras. His work across the globe has earned him multiple awards and recognitions in music. Marshall McGuire - harp
Acclaimed for his musicality, precision and engaging stage presence, harpist Marshall McGuire is equally at home with new commissions from composers around the world as he is exploring 17th century music with his group Ludovico's Band. He has commissioned and premiered over 100 new works for harp, and has performed at a wide range of venues and festivals including WOMADelaide; Chekhov Festival Moscow; Vale of Glamorgan Festival Wales; Hayman Island; Sydney Opera House; The Glamour Room Shanghai; Dom Pedro Theatre Macau; Southbank Centre London; and, in 2013, in a mineshaft for the Castlemaine State Festival.
As an artistic director, he has led The Seymour Group and Ludovico's Band, and has curated festival programs for the Sydney Festival, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival; Utzon Music Series Sydney Opera House; and three National Music Camps for the Australian Youth Orchestra.
Marshall also passionately supports the work of young musicians, and is invited to present masterclasses at colleges around the world. He is a Trustee of the Peggy Glanville-Hicks House; the Hephzibah Tintner Foundation; a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra Artistic Advisory Committee; and a regular collaborator with students at the Australian National Academy of Music. Marshall is currently Music Programmer at Arts Centre Melbourne.
Peter Guy- organ
Peter Guy is Organist and Master of the Choristers at Christ Church Cathedral, Newcastle. An honours graduate and University Medallist of the University of Newcastle (where he studied pipe organ and conducting with Dr Philip Matthias), Peter has a strong association with the musical life of Newcastle.
Peter was a national keyboard finalist in the Symphony Australia Young Performer's Award in 2003, performing with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. He has undertaken international tours with the University of Newcastle Chamber Choir, and more recently has performed as part of the national conferences of the Organ Historical Society in the United States.
Peter has recorded two solo organ compilations, directed Christ Church Cathedral Choir in recording and enjoys an active recital schedule around Australia.
Anna Sandström - soprano
Anna Sandström completed her bachelor of Music at the University of Newcastle, studying singing with Christopher Allan.
She was a chorister in the Christ Church Cathedral choir until 2002. She still performs as a soloist with the Cathedral, and University choirs and the Gosford Philharmonia. Living in London from 2008-2012, Anna sang in the choir of Royal Hospital Chelsea and maintained a busy freelance solo and choral career including regular BBC broadcasts, solo appearances in festivals including Henley, Poole Lighthouse & Petworth, and concerts in major venues throughout the UK and Europe including Cadogan Hall with Emma Kirkby and services at Westminster Abbey. Now resident in Sydney, Anna regularly performs as a soloist and in ensemble with Australian groups including The Song Company, St Mary's Cathedral Choir, Cantillation, Hallelujah Junction, Pinchgut Opera, and Australian Baroque Brass.
Stephan Muehr - timpani
Stephan Muehr began his first drum lessons when he was 13 years old in Hildesheim, Germany. By the time he was 16 he was asked to play percussion in Puccini's opera, Tosca and this startedStephan's interest in classical music. Stephan studied at Hannover State School of Music and Theatre in Germany Timpani and Percussion with Mr Egmont Heinzmann (Hildesheim Theatre), Prof. Albert Schober (Hannover State Opera) and Mr Rainer Seegers (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra). After spending 16 months in the German Army Compulsory Military Service Musickorps No 1, he was then employed full-time as Percussionist and Timpani player with the Hildesheim Theatre, Germany.
Laila Engle - flute
Laila maintains a busy performance and touring schedule as a full time member of the Royal Australian Air force Band and is in constant demand as freelance artist.
A passionate advocate of contemporary and Australian music, Laila champions this repertoire through her work as founding member of the award winning chamber music group Syzygy Ensemble and presenter of the Australian Sounds program on 3MBS -FM
Laila holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Masters of Music from the University of Melbourne studying under Alison Mitchell, Geoffrey Collins, Margaret Crawford and Mardi McSullea.
Matthew Horsley - glockenspiel
Matthew Horsley is a Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist and composer. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and a Master of Music Performance (by Research) from the Victorian College of the Arts.
He has performed with artists such as Steve Reich, Andy Madadian, Speak Percussion, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Clocked Out.
Matthew has a particular interest in Irish traditional music, specialising in the uilleann pipes, Irish flute and tin whistle.
He will travel to Ireland in mid-2014 to study with renowned uilleann piper Mikie Smyth and perform around the country. He is a regular performer in the Australian folk festival circuit, performing as a soloist and in various instrumental combinations.
