Chambers, father of Kasey Chambers and one of Australia's most talented performers in his own right, is an ambassador for the award-winning Akoostik Festival, which is held annually in Wingham in October.

Guests at the launch event, being held as part of the Manning Winter Festival, will be the first to know which headline artists will feature on the festival program this year, with high-profile Australian performers, international artists and well-known local bands expected to be included in the lineup.

Chambers will join local bands The Travelling Teardrops and The Last Train at the award-winning Bent on Food cafe for the launch, with limited tickets ensuring an intimate musical experience.

The Wingham Akoostik Festival is one of the region's most prominent music festivals and last year won Greater Taree City Council's 'community event of the year'.

Chambers, who will return from his European tour for the launch event, performed at the 2013 Akoostik festival and has become one of the festival's most well-known ambassadors.

Other past Akoostik performers include Richard Clapton, Jenny Morris, Wendy Matthews, Deborah Conway and Doc Neeson, alongside many talented local and regional musicians and performers.

The Akoostik artist announcement kicks off at 6.30pm on Thursday, June 26, at Bent on Food cafe, Isabella Street, Wingham.

Entry is $10 per person, with an array of food available for purchase at the venue.
