The showcase featuring talented young people from across the region and some of Australia's high-profile talents will take place on August 27 at the Manning Entertainment Centre, with both matinee and evening performances.

Don Spencer OAM, John Waters and George Houvardas will all return.

"I'm very excited to come back and do it all again," said John.

"It was a great experience for me to see the real effects of the ACMF (Australian Children's Music Foundation) funding and how profoundly it can improve the lot of many kids.

"Thanks to the Manning Valley for having me! You sure do know how to put on a special show."

Don is just as excited.

"The children were fantastic last year! I'm so proud that the ACMF is a part of a wonderful show. I'm really looking forward to see what they will put on again this year," he said.

George, who was last year's MC, said he's ready to do it all again.

"It was my first time in Taree last year and I had such a great time with the people and of course the talented children of Taree. I just jumped at the chance to come back and do it all again. Thanks for the invite," he said.

Joining the big name performers is Rachael Beck, who recently conducted a musical theatre masterclass in Taree.

All the stars will perform with some lucky young people this year.

As they did last year, all Rotary clubs in the Manning Valley have combined to put on the event.

Last year's concerts raised $40,000 and it is hoped more can be raised this year to go towards the Taree ACMF programs

The ACMF, founded by Don Spencer, is a not-for-profit organisation that provides music instruments and programs for disadvantaged and indigenous children and youth in schools, remote communities and juvenile justice centres across Australia.

Research has proven that participation in music has a significant impact on a child's mental health and development.
