Member for Lyne David Gillespie and member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead have been given a sneak peek of the product, called Bambeam, on a recent inspection of Logan Leigh Benchtops.
Owners David and Gay Embury and factory manager Mark Atkins took the politicians on a guided tour of the company's factory and facilities.
Logan Leigh Benchtops custom make bamboo bench tops and supply kitchen and joinery trades and DIY renovators both locally and across Australia.
"They have invented and developed a new form of bamboo construction beam similar in strength to a hardwood beam, right here in the Manning. The high finish product will span up to eight metres and is expected to go on the market in the near future," Mr Bromhead said.
"This is a very exciting project and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate David, Gay and their team on taking the plunge and investing in the research and development required to get this product to where it is today," Dr Gillespie said.
