GRANDPARENTS day at Taree West Public School, the first at the school for a number of years, drew a huge crowd of grandparents and parents.
Visitors spilled out under the covered outdoor learning area for the morning assembly in the hall where medallions and music scholarships were presented, as well as other items.
Medallion winners were Hudson Deas from kindergarten for always showing respect, responsibility and care, Rory Murray from year two for being an enthusiastic and conscientious worker, Taneha Clement from year three for her positive attitude in all school activities, Karlos Barry in year four for improved application and attitude towards learning, Nickolas Addison in year five for improved application to learning and Brandon Miller from year six for his conscientious approach to learning.
Local businesses and organisations have made donations for music scholarships to a number of members of the school's band.
Recipients and the sponsors are Katy McLeod (Cubbyhouse Preschool), Samira Mitchell (Cubbyhouse Preschool), Kiaya Ralston (Cubbyhouse Preschool), Mitchell Starr (TWPS P and C), Miranda Frendin (TWPS P and C), Keira Kelly (Musical Pathways), Amber-Rose Sadler (Taree Arts Council), Jaryd Mitchell (Manning Valley OOSH) and Tea Sedlen (Manning Valley OOSH).
Following the assembly, grandparents and parents enjoyed a morning tea before heading to the classrooms to see where their grandchildren spend their days and what they have been learning.
