Blencowe, who won the world WBA and WIBA lightweight crown last June when outpointing Daniella Smith over 10 rounds in New Zealand. This was the first time she’d fought 10 rounds.
However, her only boxing contest since then was an unsuccessful attempt at the Australian lightweight title in February.
She had hoped to defend her crown overseas, but negotiations have fallen through.
“I was hoping to get a fight in Germany, but my opponent is injured,’’ Blemcowe said.
She now hopes to line up a bout in Newcastle in June. However, negotiations are continuing and no opponent has been locked in.
Blencowe has been alternating between boxing and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the past year.
She scored a win in a MMA promotion held in Brisbane last weekend when beating Kenani Mangalahia after forcing a submission in the third round.
The bout was also named fight of the night.
Blencowe will now take a brief break from training, but will also take part in a ju jitsu competition in Wollongong. This will be a first for her.
Meanwhile, former Taree boxer Shelley Watt has been named in the Australian team to contest the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow later this year.
Watt, who boxed as an amateur with Blencowe, is now based in Sydney.
