Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead visited Taree Library to hand over a cheque for $57,435 to the library to enable the significant project to commence.
"I am very pleased to see this grant being used for a most worthwhile project to improve the children's area of Taree Library, Mr Bromhead said.
"The project includes the installation of interactive technology walls, shelving and to purchase new furniture.
"The Library Development Grants are for projects that enable libraries to respond to the changing needs of their clients and provide significant public benefit and develop improved public library services for the people of NSW.
"The grants process is competitive as each application is assessed on merit so I commend Greater Taree City Council and the Library staff on their successful application.
"I look forward to visiting the library when the project has been completed," Mr Bromhead said.
