The meeting is a way to gauge community interest in starting a community garden, where everyone would be welcome to go and grow vegetables, herbs and fruit, whilst also providing a safe, secure meeting place for the community, particularly mothers with children.
The garden would also encourage a healthy lifestyle for all involved and is a great place to socialise with other people in the neighbourhood.
The community garden movement is growing all over the world where it has been proven to unify people of all ages, races and backgrounds.
Anyone who is interested and wanting to get the garden off the ground should attend the public meeting on Saturday, March 29, from 11am and a sausage sizzle will be provided.
Ruprecht Park is bounded by Valerie, Marjorie and Ronald Streets, near Denva Bird Way.
