This year teams played in just one tournament before heading to Port Macquarie. That was the annual gala day hosted by Taree.
Association president Graham Goodwin believes sides need more game time before playing at cup level.
Taree's under 10s was the best performed side, making the quarter final where they were beaten by Central Coast in a thriller.
The 18 boys, 14s boys and 12 girls and boys made it through to the round of 16.
Mr Goodwin thanked all the coaches and support staff along with the parents who assisted on the weekend.
Teams were selected last October and have been training since, other than for a break over Christmas.
Meanwhile Taree's winter competition will be underway from next month. Team nomination forms will be available soon.
