His first event was the heat in the 200 metres where he qualified first for the finals. He backed it up with a win in the final.
He then competed in the 400 metres where he was beaten on the line, earning him second place and a silver medal.
The following day Kye competed in the 200 metres where he won his heat and then ran in the 800 metres where once again he finished with a silver medal. The final of the 200 metres followed. He was once again pipped on the line by 0.05 of a second.
It was a great meet for young Andrews as he only started at little athletics last year. He will now go on to the State titles at Homebush in March.
Over the past year he has represented his school in State cross country and athletics as well as representing the district in rugby league and touch football.
His biggest love however, is racing motorbikes.
Over the past few years he has achieved places in both State and Australian titles. This weekend he will be travelling to Queenbeyan to contest the King and Queens at Fairburn Park on his 85cc and 85cc mod bikes.
