A HOUSE in Old Bar was completely gutted by fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The George Street home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Inspector Terry Kitching, based at the Rural Fire Service (RFS) headquarters in Taree, said the RFS was alerted to the fire by a 000 call at 1.38am on Tuesday.
Crews from Taree, Mitchells Island and Old Bar responded and attended the scene, finishing up at 4.15am.
A fire crew returned at about 7am, after the fire reignited, to extinguish the flames.
The Forensic Services Group was on the scene yesterday conducting an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
