This week general manager, Robert Cooke learned the service had been funded to provide 30,000 meal services.
The funding announcement by Lyne MP, David Gillespie "was a surprise" to Mr Cooke, as Manning Support Services has "never done meals before, so this will be a first for us."
Mr Cooke said the team at Manning Support Services welcomed the funding as "it will give our clients a wider scope of choice of services."
"We are extremely excited about it and now we will work to deliver the services. It will mean that we will need additional volunteers from our community to help us establish and deliver this service to the community."
Manning Support Services is one of nine organisations in the Lyne electorate to receive funding from the Home and Community Care program. The investment in the region is $3.28 million and will result in 138,410 service deliveries.
According to Mr Gillespie, the program assists seniors in our community with basic maintenance, support and care services in their homes, like cleaning, social support and transport.
"These services are absolutely vital for many people who certainly want the option to stay in their own homes longer," Mr Gillespie said.
Mr Gillespie said the local area would continue to experience growing demand for Home Community Care services.
"There have been forecasts and predictions about what challenges lie ahead as a result of Australia's ageing population, but we have been experiencing these demands for some time and that is why there has been a significant increase in funding to our electorate," he added.
