In the girls playoff, Taree West Chargers scraped home 18-15 over St Joseph's Slamdunks while the final was even closer with St Joseph's Titaniums claiming a two point win over St Joseph's Lakers 28 to 26.
Hope Extrem with 16 points kept the scoreboard ticking over for Titaniums while for Lakers, it was Georgie Stephen who led the way with 14 points.
The boys' playoff was a hard fought affair with the full time siren finding St Joseph's Taipans up by the narrowest of margins over Taree West Chiefs 28 to 27.
Wingham Red with a polished all round team performance claimed the boys final over St Joseph's Magic 50-37.
Wingham played consistent basketball from the first jumpball while Magic didn't really get into the game until the last quarter. They outscored their opponents 21 to 16 in the run to the finish line but were always going to struggle to cause an upset as they were down 34-18 at three quarter time.
Nash Atkins (12), Cody Smith, Jack Kelly and Harry Lewis (10 each) and Aaron Smith (8) all played well for Wingham Red with Jackson Gaul and Reece Jeffriess battling hard for the Magic to finish with 21 and 14 points respectively.
There was no final played in the mixed year 3/4 division but just like the other nine weeks of games the enjoyment level was high when the players took the court and was increased even further when each player was presented with a basketball as a reward for their participation.
Taree Basketball has extended thanks to the coaches, referees, scorebench helpers and parents for making the term 4/2013 primary school basketball competition at Saxby's Stadium the best one yet.
The organisation hopes players and their supporters will be back when the next competition fires up in term 1/2014.
Players moving into high school are also encouraged to continue playing by joining the junior competitions which are played on Tuesday afternoons from 4.20pm.
