Despite extensive rain throughout the area that weekend, not one drop fell for Carols by Candlelight conducted at the Johnny Martin Oval.
And despite the inclement weather more than 400 people enjoyed the night.
The Times reported that Matthew McBurney and Carol Crossman were enthusiastic hosts and led the crowd in the singing. Music was provided by the Salvation Army Brass Band and the Salvation Army also provided cool drinks.
The ‘three wise people’ – Darryl Drury, Alison Clifton and Glenn Maas came out one by one to tell the story of the birth of Christ while up and coming Christian music star, Emma Robinson, daughter of Jon Robinson from Wingham delighted the crowd.
Scott Calvin was there to take photos for the Times.
