Everyone is invited to Harry Bennett Park on Saturday, December 7 from 6pm to 9pm to enjoy a festival of live music and light created and performed by local young people.
Live 'n' Loud Summerfest is an initiative of the Manning Youth Action Team (MYAT) - a group of dedicated young people supported by GTCC Youth Services and Taree Library, who organise a Live 'n' Loud at the Library event at the end of school term. Live 'n' Loud events provide young musicians and performers with an opportunity to perform regularly in a safe and supportive environment. Last year's Summerfest was a great success, with everyone enjoying great music beside the stunning Manning River.
This year, concert goers will have the added bonus of the inaugural Manning Regional Art Gallery "Live 'n' Light" Festival which is being run in conjunction with Live 'n' Loud!
One of the first of its kind in regional NSW, the Live 'n' Light show will use artworks created by the youth of the Manning Valley and project them onto buildings in Taree City Centre including Harry Bennett Park! Think "Vivid Sydney", but on a smaller scale! The projection for Live 'n' Light will begin at 6pm and will offer the audience a unique cultural and fun experience throughout the evening.
The event is open to community members and is completely drug- and alcohol-free. Gates open at 5pm and entry to the event is just $5 per person or $15 for a group of four or more people. The event will finish at 9pm. There will be a barbecue with drinks for sale. All proceeds for the night go towards the MYAT group to continue their role in creating events and youth opportunities.
