This year, the organisers are again looking for enthusiastic singers, wanting to be part of the true message of Christmas in our town.
There will be one massed rehearsal only, at the Baptist Church Taree, Kolodong Road, Taree, on Wednesday, December 11 from 7pm.
A number of talented artists will again be featured this year, including The Trapps (featuring Kevin Ballard) with their version of Hark! The Herald Angels sing; Robyn Green and the beautiful 'Silent Night'; Louise Hayes appealing in song to 'People of All Nations'; and the stunning tones of Mary Camphuis singing the glorious 'O Holy Night'.
The massed Carols Choir will provide the backing for the artists and lead the people of Taree in such rousing favourites as We Three Kings, Once In Royal David's City and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear.
The talented and extremely busy Peter Stevenson has provided a website for choristers eager to hear the accompaniments prior to the massed rehearsal.
You will find the link for music, lyrics and rehearsal audio at http:// tareecarols.alternation.com.au/choir/.
Folders and words will also be provided at the rehearsal, and extra rehearsal CDs.
Taree Carols in the Park will be held at Fotheringham Park from 7pm on Sunday, December 15. For more information contact Taree Carols co-ordinator Peter Stevenson peter.stevo@gmail.com or 6551 2199 or Taree Carols conductor Ruth Crossman at arthurry@hotmail.com or 6553 9561.
