TransGrid currently has on exhibition to proposed Stroud to Lansdowne high voltage transmission upgrade.
The Mondrook meeting unanimously voted to reject the current options put forward by TransGrid.
The meeting also unanimously voted for the Manning Alliance to lead the community in this issue. The Manning Alliance was formed last year in response to concerns about coal seam gas mining in the Manning.
Leading the meeting were Alliance president Peter Epov and renowned author and Mondrook resident, Di Morrissey.
TransGrid this week announced an extension of two weeks for the community consultation period, now closing on April 5. After this, the preferred corridor will be chosen.
A TransGrid spokeswoman told the Times this community consultation was the first of a long series of consultations prior to the transmission line being erected.
More details about Monday night’s meeting, plus reaction, will appear in Friday’s Times.
