There will be no reduction in train services to Taree, according to a Transport for NSW spokesperson, however, northern XPT departure and arrival times will change by up to 90 minutes. Customers travelling on the XPT services from the North Coast will arrive into Sydney earlier in the evening in most cases.
The key changes to the northern XPT timetable are:
o Brisbane to Sydney (XPT) The 6.30am Brisbane to Sydney XPT will now depart at 4.55am (AEDST) arriving into Sydney at an earlier time of 8.12pm.
o Sydney to Brisbane (XPT) The 4.12pm Sydney to Brisbane XPT will now depart Central at 2.41pm arriving into Brisbane at 3.53am (AEDST).
There is an additional change to the Nambucca Heads XPT service with one of the six daily North Coast services no longer stopping at Nambucca Heads.
Customers wishing to travel to Nambucca Heads on the Sydney to Brisbane XPT will alight at Macksville and will join NSW TrainLink road transport to continue their journey to Nambucca Heads. Customers travelling from Nambucca Heads to Brisbane will depart at 9.50pm to join NSW TrainLink road transport and travel to Macksville to join their Brisbane XPT service.
NSW TrainLink's director of customer service delivery, Kieron Ritchard said connecting road coach services to NSW TrainLink regional and intercity services had been adjusted to match the new timetable.
"Any customers currently holding a booking on a NSW TrainLink service for travel on or after October 20 will be contacted by one of our customer service staff before their scheduled departure date to notify if their service is now departing earlier," Mr Ritchard said.
Customers can also check the timetable changes by returning to where they originally purchased their ticket, check the new timetable on www.nswtrainlink.info or call 132 232.
