Voting closes this Sunday, August 25 at noon.
The Manning and Great Lakes Early Intervention has a one-in-three chance of winning the $5000 grant on offer if it secures the highest number of votes.
As of yesterday it had secured 54 per cent of votes for its "Start High Tech Learning" initiative with its competitors, Ballina's "Start Connecting Families" with 33 per cent of votes and Lismore's "Start Making Pizza" with 13 per cent of votes. Manning and Great Lakes Early Intervention co-ordinator, Lynne Stuttard urged people to make time to vote for their project.
"We hope to win and if we do then we would buy three Apple iPads and specialist software, Boardmaker," Lynne said.
"The software creates visual supports for children who have a problem with communicating. We also want to identify apps that can be used on an iPad to assist parents support their children.
"We would really love to win this grant and hope the community will vote to support our project."
