Seven riders have earned competition berths in the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) 2013 State Dressage Champion ships but community help is needed to get their horses to Sydney.

Glimmer, Lightning Star, Cinnamon, Turbo and Maguires Banjo are the horses that need the lift to Sydney and the RDA Manning Great Lakes is hoping someone can lend them a truck to transport the horses or two horse floats.

RDA Manning Great Lakes competitor, Mikaela Worth said time was running out to find transportation for their horses.

"The competition is this month so we really need someone to help us soon," Mikaela said.

"Our preference would be for a truck that could carry all five horses, but in the end we need any form of help to get them to Sydney from August 22 until August 25."

The 2013 State Dressage Championships will be held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre in Horsley Park on August 24 and 25. It is the first time riders from the RDA Manning Great Lakes have competed in the event and they will be vying for selection to go the national dressage championships in Victoria in November.

The competitors will be Amber Hunt, Tara Copp, Vicki-Anne Harris, Esther Vincent, Mikaela Worth, Ryan McNeil and Chelsea Murray.

RDA Manning Great Lakes is also selling raffle tickets to help minimise the cost of the competition to the individual riders. The raffle will be drawn on August 18 with the following prizes available to win. First prize: a television; second prize: $200 Saxby's Pharmacy gift voucher; third prize: patchwork quilt; fourth prize: a painting by artist, Tanya Taylor.
