TAREE radio station 2RE made history when it was the first regional broadcaster permitted to go live from Parliament House in Sydney last month.

Organised by member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead on the request of radio announcer Craig Huth, the live broadcast was hosted by The Panel (host Craig Huth, Greater Taree City councillors David West and Kathryn Bell, and local girl Lucy Hardyman and her two friends who all attend Loreto College in Normanhurst).
Among the guests was premier Barry O'Farrell who used the opportunity to announce a Community Cabinet for Taree in May as well as more funding for senior concerts next year.
Roads minister Duncan Gay gave his assurance that he would look at The Lakes Way again with Mr Bromhead.

Craig said 2RE is looking at taking The Panel to Parliament House in Canberra later this year.
He added that he was impressed by the contribution by the girls from Loreto College.
"In the end they had better questions than we did.
"They put the health minister and the education minister right on the spot."
