Swiss flying student

SYLVIA Scheffler from Zurich, Switzerland searched the internet to find a flying school in Australia where she could train for her private pilot's licence.

In Switzerland it is very expensive to learn to fly and the airspace is very crowded.

She looked at the Manning River Aero Club's website and liked what she saw and is now into the second month of a two month flying training program to achieve her goal.

Sylvia is as an executive assistant for international executive search company Egon Zehnder which coincidentally has offices in Sydney.

Sylvia, who is learning to fly as a hobby, is enjoying her training with the Manning River Aero Club's chief flying instructor Peter Sikora along with the uncluttered skies in the training area over Old Bar.

President Angus Laurie said the Manning River Aero Club hopes to attract more international flying students to the club's excellent facilities here in the Manning Valley.
