Police have appealed for assistance following a service station robbery in Taree this morning.
About 2.20am , a 42-year-old male employee was working inside the station’s store on Manning River Drive, Glenthorne, when a man entered and approached him at the service counter.
The man produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the attendant.
The employee complied before the man fled on foot.
He was last seen heading north towards Manning River Drive.
Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command attended a short time later and established a crime scene.
Police now wish to speak to a man described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his early to mid 20s, and about 170-175cm tall.
At the time, he was wearing a dark grey hoodie with a motif on the chest area, black trackpants with stripes down each leg, and white sneakers.
