Wet A Line

10 Feb, 2012 08:15 AM
IT seems the rain is going to continue for a few days before it clears and it will take the river a few weeks to clean up in the upper parts around Taree and up to Wingham.

The sea water at Harrington is a dirty brown colour but it is salty but and not affected by the fresh water as the river.

The sea will clear quickly but it might take two weeks for the blue water to start pushing up the river on the high tides. Some good bream are being caught from the sea wall on the last of the run-in on yabbies and mullet baits. The occasional flathead is also being caught in the mouth of the river. Apart from these fish catches have been poor. It has been no better on the beach since the rain started early in the week.

When the winds turn around to the north east then conditions should brighten up.
