TWO boxers from the Punching Monkey gymnasium at Taree were winners in the Manning River Rumble held at Taree PCYC.
Adam Fitzsimons, aged 15, scored a unanimous win over Ryan Jones from the Lake Macquarie PCYC while Chris Fitzsimons, 16, won over Aaron Jones from Lake Macquarie, also by a unanimous decision.
In all 10 competitive and three exhibition bouts were held on the program.
Taree PCYC boxer Bobby Potter had an unfortunate night. The 26-year-old took on Chris Clarke from Shoalhaven, however, he injured his shoulder in the second round of the contest and was unable to continue.
He was the only Taree PCYC combatant to get a fight on the night.
Organisers were happy with the excellent crowd that turned out for the annual event.
However, it proved a lean night for the Forster contingent, with both Jake Loring, 16, and Beau Callahan, 19, losing their bouts. Loring was beaten by Adam Egan from Newcastle while Chaney Starr from Shoalhaven PCYC scored a unanimous decision over Callahan.
Ethan Rathbone from Punching Monkey was beaten by Gerrard Starr from Shoalhaven, also by a unanimous decision.
