FORSTER-Tuncurry coach Graeme Jennings confirmed his club has expressed interest in former Taree City rugby league halfback Jarryd Hogan.
"I haven't spoken to him, but I understand a couple of the players have,'' Jennings said.
Hogan left the Bulls in 2006 to play Toyota Cup with the Sydney Roosters along with another Taree product, five-eighth Sam McCartney.
McCartney linked with the Hawks last year and played a leading role in the club's charge to the premiership after he recovered from a leg injury that almost ended his season. McCartney has re-signed for this season and it's understood he approached Hogan while he was holidaying in the Forster-Tuncurry area.
After leaving the Roosters Hogan played in the NSW Cup with North Sydney before turning out in the Wollongong competition last season.
Jennings isn't expecting Hogan to play in tomorrow's trial game against Terrigal at Tuncurry.
The Hawks will have the nucleus of their 2011 side back on deck this season, although a couple will be absent tomorrow because of work commitments.
Daniel Stallworthy and Troy Hilder have retired while utility back Kurtis Tuilewa has left the area. The club has gained former Port Breakers utility back Kurt Lewis along with Mitchell King from Sydney.
Both will be having a run against Terrigal.
Under 18s will kickoff at 2pm with the seniors from around 3.30.
